6-Month Limited Hardware Warranty

This warranty applies to items purchased in our physical store, through our website SherwoodComputers.com or via Square Payment Invoice. Items purchased through our eBay store must go through eBay for warranty claims.

At LV Electronics Recycling, we take pride in our refurbishment process. Every computer undergoes a rigorous multi-point inspection before it reaches your hands. To give you peace of mind, we back our hardware with a 6-Month Limited Warranty.

All electronics sold in our store and website carry the same 6-Month Warranty as our computers against hardware failure.

What is Covered (Comprehensive Hardware Protection)

We stand behind the quality of our refurbished machines. Our warranty is designed to protect you against any internal mechanical or electronic failures, including:

• Internal Components: Full coverage for the motherboard, processor (CPU), and system memory (RAM). If these core components fail, we fix or replace them.

• Storage: Failure of the Solid State Drive (SSD) or Hard Drive (excluding data recovery).

• Visuals & Display: Coverage for manufacturer defects in the LCD panel, including backlight failure, flickering, or dead pixels that appear after purchase (not caused by impact).

• Power Systems: Coverage for internal power delivery systems and the charging circuitry. Laptop chargers are fully covered in this warranty.

• Connectivity & Ports: Protection for built-in Wi-Fi cards, Bluetooth modules, and integrated hardware ports (unless damage is caused by physical force).

• Labor: All diagnostic and repair labor costs for covered hardware issues.

The Laptop Battery Policy

Batteries are "consumable" items, meaning they naturally lose capacity over time, much like tires on a car. Because of this natural wear, they are treated differently than other hardware:

• Initial Coverage: We guarantee your battery will hold a charge and be in healthy condition at the time of sale. Our warranty covers batteries that completely fail (will not take a charge) within the first 30 days.

• Post-30 Day Support: If you need to purchase a replacement battery after the 30-day period, we are happy to assist you in finding one for purchase online. Fortunately, new aftermarket batteries are rather inexpensive.

• Free Installation: During the 6-month warranty period, there will be no fee for installation of a replacement battery you have ordered.

• Exclusions: We cannot replace batteries that are located behind a screen, such as those found on Microsoft Surface devices. Additionally, we do not replace batteries due to a gradual decrease in "run time" or capacity after the initial 30-day period.

What is NOT Covered (Exclusions)

To keep our prices low and our service fast, we cannot cover issues outside of our control:

• Accidental Damage: This includes liquid spills, drops, cracked screens, or physical damage to ports (USB/Charging ports). Accidents are not covered under this warranty.

• Software & Viruses: We do not cover Windows/OS corruption, malware, blue screens caused by user-installed software, or "slow performance" due to background apps.

• Data Loss: We are not responsible for your personal files. We strongly recommend regular backups to a cloud service or external drive.

• Unauthorized Repair: If the computer is opened or repaired by anyone other than LV Electronics Recycling staff, this warranty is void.

• Any items labeled explicitly "AS IS" do not carry any warranty.

How to Claim Your Warranty

Your warranty is tied to your receipt so please save your receipt. A picture or emailed copy or your receipt is sufficient. We can pull up receipts for items paid in store with a debit/credit card with said card present. No receipt needed for items ordered on our website since we have records of all orders.

If you experience a hardware issue, simply bring the device into our shop for service. If you need to mail in the unit, postage is not covered. We will first attempt to Repair the device. If a repair is not cost-effective or possible, we will Exchange the unit for one of equal or greater value.

Our Commitment to You

Even if your issue falls outside of the warranty coverage or occurs after the 6-month period, we are here to help. We offer limited repairs at affordable rates exclusively for devices we have sold. Our goal is to keep your technology running for as long as possible, so please come back to us whenever your device needs service. We provide free estimates.
